Hynde, Chrissie. Reckless: my life as a pretender. New York: Anchor Books, 2016, 5th printing number line, x, 312pp., PAPERBACK, cover price $16.95, very good, fresh copy, appears unused. Chrissie Hynde, leader of the Pretenders, is one of the most widely imitated figures in rock: sexy, unflappable, vulnerable yet tough, a groundbreaking songwriter and performer. In these pages, Chrissie gives us her story. We see her all-American 1950s childhood in Ohio, and her teenage self falling for the rock music of the 1960s. We follow her to London, where she takes a job with NME and makes her way into the churning 70s London punk scene, meeting Lemmy, Sid Vicious and Iggy Pop, living in squats, writing songs, playing in early versions of the Clash and the Damned. Her work with the Pretenderswhich melded punk, New Wave, and pop to irresistible effectwould catapult her to instant stardom. Through it all is Chrissies unmistakable voice, ringing with fearless emotional honesty, a razor-sharp wit, and an enduring belief in the power of rocknroll. ISBN 9781101912232.

(Paperback, 2006). (1993) 1994 paperback edition. Small 8vo paperback (130 x 200mm). Pp352. B/w photographs and illustrations. A used but solidly intact second-hand paperback. Howell Raines is a professional journalist and long-time flyfisher. In this book he recounts his fly fishing adventures, in which he gives a good account of the historical and contemporary social background of the places he fishes and the people he fishes with. Finding some sort of link between this variegated collection of people is the thread running through the whole narrative. Incidental to this, Raines extends the same principle to his family, principally his father and his sons, and in so doing avoids any note of self-indulgence which might have tempted other authors. More than just a collection of episodes, this book offers a connected narrative from beginning to end and is never less than a good, solid read. .

If You Lived Here, You'd Be Home Already geschrieben. . Aus: wikipedia-Chuck_Palahniuk. Zustand: Wie neu. Erste Auflage dieser Ausgabe. 166 Seiten. Sehr guter Zustand. Frisches Exemplar. Wie ungelesen. - Dame Muriel Spark, DBE (* 1. Februar 1918 in Edinburgh; 13. Ihr erster Roman The Comforters (dt. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (dt.
