Christopher has a problem. He has just moved to Toronto. He has a new school and no friends. But even worse, the park next door is creepy: voices whisper in the bushes, and something throws apples at his window and howls at the moon. But what? Gargoyles! Their names are Gargoth and Ambergine, and they need help. An evil thief called the Collector is after them and wants to lock them away in his dark mansion, forever. Befriending a gargoyle takes courage, but it's worth it. Once he does, Christopher suddenly has more friends than he ever imagined, including Katherine, a girl from his class who knows the gargoyles, as well. When the Collector steals Ambergine, it's up to Christopher and Katherine to get her back, as long as something else doesn't catch them along the way. This is the third book in the award-nominated Lost Gargoyle series. The book has been read but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact and the cover is intact. Some minor wear to the spine.

Buch
Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. Integrity, wit and passion. A fine advocate for the best of Christian thought and a faith that encompasses the human as well as the divine. Stephen Fry Christianity is in crisis, and its founder is often misunderstood and misinterpreted. This book presents the real Jesus: a rebel, a radical, and a revolutionary. What did Jesus the original Jesus say about the pressing issues of his and our day? He didnt mention homosexuality but did call for the poor and marginalized to be protected and championed; he never spoke of abortion but did criticize the wealthy and complacent; he didnt side with the rulers and wealthy but did condemn those who judged and exploited others and turned their eyes away from those in need and from the cry for justice. This was Jesus the rebel, Christ the radical, who turned the world upside down and demanded that his followers do the same. Too many of those followers, tragically, seem to have misplaced that vital lesson. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

The story of a group of Canadian Army officers who volunteered to serve in the British Army in Europe between D-Day, 1944, and V-E Day, 1945, in a scheme called CANLOAN. Author was one of the participants and has based this work upon research supplemented by the recollections of survivors. A vivid account both of the experiences of the CANLOAN officers and of the scheme itself, from the initial concept to its realization. Presents slit-trench views of the battles in Normandy, Arnhem, Italy, the Rhineland and beyond the Rhine. Covers the role of the platoon commander in battle, the experiences of prisoners of war, the wounded, and the 50 Ordnance Corps volunteers who with 623 junior infantry officers made up CANLOAN. This copy appears to have come from a low circulation library, perhaps in a senior's home. Stickers have been removed from dust jacket and their former presence is nearly invisible. Otherwise, dust jacket remains very attractive and shows only light wear. Prior owner's address label and three small library stamps upon decorated front endpaper. No other markings to book which is clean and bears light wear. Blue boards decorated with gilt. A lovely copy.
