A good, concise introduction to coarse and sea angling for the beginner, illustrated with cartoon strips, much in the manner of Mr. Crabtree. The book was issued in both hardback and paperback with different SBNs for each however the SBN for the hardback issue (718208064) was printed on the front and rear cover of the paperback issue. The correct SBN for the paperback issue (718208161) is printed on the title-page verso. .

With John W. Woodfield's military nameplate on the front pastedown. "This History has now become the standard work on the subject. The binding is tight and firm. There is slight wear to the extremities, including bumping. The dust wrappers have some closed tears, chips and discolouration. Internally the pages are clean and bright with some light background foxing on the first and last couple of pages. Very Good. book.
