In the original illustrated dustwrapper which has some fading to the spine but overall is very good. A slight lean to the book but generally a very good copy of this fascinating account. One of an unspecified number distributed in the UK and with the UK publisher's label mounted over the New York publisher's name on the title page. ----- James Howell Howard was a Brigadier General in the United States Air Force and was the only fighter pilot in the European Theater of Operations in World War II to receive the Medal of Honor, the United States military's highest decoration, as well as many other others, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.
